Invest In Developing Your Self

Self Development Derek Bok said: “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance”. Top performers in any field of endeavor are people who have made it an unbreakable rule to religiously invest in their personal development. Top performers always seek to make things better, they are in a constant quest for improvement. Whatever has been done under the sun can be “re-done”, and the beautiful thing is that it can be re-done better than the first time it was done.

The biggest room in the world, is the room for (self-) improvement. Have you ever looked at something you did and thought “I could have done better than that”? That is a good sign. It shows that you are seeking to improve, to make things better that you previously did. The first step to improve things and people around us is to improve self. Why self? Because it is the only thing you have full control over.

Investing regularly in the development of self will make you rise in your field and increase your chances of early success and great achievements in life. What I do to make sure I continuously develop my self is read a new book every month. I read 10 books a year on average. I have been doing that since 2009. Jim Rohn rightly said: Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.
